Paralympic Sports

This program welcomes disabled youths and adults of all skill levels to participate in ongoing sports and physical activities. We offer lessons in Horseback Riding, Archery, Table Tennis, Rock Climbing, and more.

Outdoor Education

Shared Adventures leads our participants out onto the Bay and into local State Parks with experienced guides. You’ll gain a whole new perspective on the natural wonders Santa Cruz has to offer.

Adaptive Yoga Project

Under the guidance of Annica Rose, a Certified Yoga Therapist with over 40 years of experience as a practitioner and instructor of yoga, the Adaptive Yoga classes are an all-levels experience designed for students with a varying array of needs. Adaptive Yoga is a safe and welcoming place to experience the multiple benefits of yoga: increased flexibility, greater sense of balance, moderate strengthening, and the ability to be present within yourself through breath.

Other available yoga classes include Back Care Basics, Junior Adaptives, Yoga for Parkinsons, and Restorative Yoga.

Our Shared Garden

MONDAYS & FRIDAYS (weather permitting)
Location: Trescony Park Community Garden (Trescony St.,
Santa Cruz, CA)
Time: 10:30am-12:30pm
Cost: FREE!
Whether you’re new to gardening or an old-hat green thumb, join us at our seven raised, wheelchair-accessible garden beds—over 200 square feet!—at the Trescony Park Community Gardens. We spend mornings in the fresh air sowing seeds, watering, weeding, pruning, harvesting, and enjoying our garden. Come watch the greenery grow and reap the harvest throughout the year. Wear comfortable clothes that can get dirty and bring a sun hat to this ongoing project for all ages.

Open Art Studio

Location: Hope Services in Santa Cruz (220 Lincoln St.)
Time: 3:30 pm – 5:30 pm
Cost: FREE!

An inclusive art program for those with and without special needs, this program has a major goal of uniting two communities that don’t typically interact very regularly: the disabled and the able-bodied. Open Art Studio classes run year-round, with a break over the holidays. New students and drop-ins welcome! No registration is required.

Social Adventures

Dance parties, bowling, local sporting events, movie nights and more are staples of the Social Adventures program. In a safe and nurturing environment, participants develop social skills and form lifelong friendships.
