MORE ABOUT YOUNG ARTISTS' STUDIO

Young Artists Studio is a free, inclusive open studio-type art classroom setting. The teenage artists are a diverse group including honor students, developmentally disabled students, public, private, and homeschooled students, autistic students, and both physically able-bodied and disabled students. They work in all 2 and 3-dimensional arts as well as exploring crafts.
Through instruction, studio time, guest artists, field trips, and opportunities to exhibit art, the young artists explore their talents and potential as artists. Young Artists Studio meets twice weekly during the school year. Call to confirm locations and times.

It is difficult for any young person to grow up. But for the disabled, the challenges can seem insurmountable.Often shunned for their differences, disabled young people tend to interact only with other disabled youth, thus leading them to be virtually invisible to the rest of society.

Our goal is to provide a comfortable environment in which these two segregated communities, the disabled and able-bodied youth, may work side by side in their shared artistic interest and learn from one another's diverse self expression.
