Founded on the belief that recreation, fun, challenge and access to the outdoors are an essential part of a healthy and fulfilling life, Shared Adventures is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of people living with disabilities.

Rates: $30/day (24 hr period) or $175/wk (7 days)

Pickup Location:Chair pickups and returns are done at our storage location: 1310 Fair Ave., Santa Cruz

Assembly: The chair is already fully assembled and ready to go! Upon pickup you will receive instructions on how to disassemble the chair which only weighs 37 lbs. (No tools are required).

Lease:You will be required to sign a lease agreement.

Please bring:

  • Photo ID
  • Credit card (to be charged only in case of theft or damage)
  • Full payment wil be due the day of rental (we accept cash, check, or credit cards)
  • A $100 deposit which will be returned to you when the chair is brought back

We are the ONLY place in Santa Cruz that offers a beach wheelchair available to rent on a daily (or weekly) basis!

GET READY FOR SAND AND SALT SPRAY!

Locals and travelers alike desire to experience our majestic and famous coastline from the sand. In many instances, someone needs a beach wheelchair to attend a specific event (such as a wedding) or to visit an alternate site.

The city of Santa Cruz currently has a beach chair program, but it is very limited in certain aspects and the chair can only be used at three beaches; however, the beach wheelchair from Shared Adventures can travel to any beach.

Thanks in part to a donation from Omega Nu, we have purchased our own beach wheelchair to use at our events such as Day on the Beach, and also to rent out at a reasonable rate.

We are very excited that this rental program allows us to expand our services and further our mission statement: to offer disabled people opportunities for social and recreational interaction, as well as access to the outdoors. It will also generate income for our program over the years.
