Founded on the belief that recreation, fun, challenge and access to the outdoors are an essential part of a healthy and fulfilling life, Shared Adventures is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of people living with disabilities.

We require 48 hours notice for cancellations. Less than 48 hours notice will result in no refund.

BOWLING BY THE BOARDWALK
Mon, March 10, 4-6pm

Location: Santa Cruz Surf Bowl (400 Beach Street, S.C.)
Cost: $7 (includes one game and shoe rental)

Join us for a fun filled early evening at the lanes! Share some laughs and make new friends while practicing your technique at a great spot near the ocean. Adaptive equipment available for all abilities.

ST. PATRICK'S DAY DANCE PARTY
Fri, March 14, 6:00-8:30pm
Location: Harvey West Clubhouse (275 Harvey West Blvd., S.C.)
Cost: $6 (companions free)

Join us for an evening of fun and entertainment. Chat with old friends and meet some new ones! A DJ will provide rockin' music to get you moving! Snacks will be served. Co-Sponsored by Easter Seals and Community Options.

PIZZA NIGHT FUNDRAISER
Wed, March 19, 5-10pm (drop by anytime)
Location: Woodstock Pizza (710 Front Street, S.C.)
Eat some delicious pizza and support Shared Adventures, while meeting new Shared Adventures participants and volunteers! Woodstock will donate a percentage of sales to our program. You will need to bring a flier for us to receive funds; see Adventure News or contact us.

CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING IN BEAR VALLEY
Fri. evening March 21- Sun. March 23
Cost: $100/person (includes 2 nights lodging, 6 meals, all equipment (adaptive equipment such as sleds, sit skis, and walker skis), trail passes, instruction and assistance from trained guides)
This exciting new trip will include cross-country skiing with adaptive equipment, a basic ski lesson from trained guides and volunteers, sledding & playing in the snow meadows, exploring the giant sequoia forests, natural history talks, indoor & outdoor games, laughter, & fun in a supportive group environment! Lodging is a rustic cabin near Arnold, California (~3 hours from Bay Area) and our activities will take us to Bear Valley Cross Country Ski Resort and Big Trees State Park, a giant sequoia forest. Companions and family members welcome to accompany participants and be completely included in the fun! You must provide your own transportation to the cabin in Arnold. Space is very limited so call early to reserve a spot.

CERAMIC PAINTING AT PETROGLYPH
Thurs, March 27, 5-7pm
Location: Petroglyph Ceramic Lounge, (125 Walnut Ave., near Pacific, S.C.)
Cost: $12 (and up, depending on art piece chosen)

Meet new friends in a fun atmostphere while expressing your individual creativity. Choose from a variety of ceramic pieces including plates, bowls, and statuettes, and paint your vision on a self created souvenir. Petroglyph will provide supplies and support, glazing by their trained staff, and kiln firing.

MONTEREY BAY AQUARIUM & DINNER AT CANNERY ROW
Sat, March 29, 1-5pm, Followed by dinner at Archie's Diner

Location: 886 Cannery Row, Monterey
Cost: $14 (includes one companion) plus dinner (avg. meal $5-10)

Join us for a behind-the-scenes tour at one of the largest and most respected aquariums in the world! The Aquarium holds 35,000 plants and animals representing 550 species. We will see the biggest permanent collection of jellyfish in the U.S., look through the world's largest window to get a diver's eye view of a kelp forest and its inhabitants, and walk through a tunnel where we can let a wave crash over us without getting wet! We will also visit penguins, otters, sharks, manta rays, and fish, and have the chance to touch sea stars and stingrays in tanks.
After our tour, there will be the option to walk one block to a 40's-style family diner to have dinner together.


INDOOR ROCK CLIMBING

Location: Pacific Edge Climbing Gym, (104 Bronson St., S.C.)
Cost: $10

Try out the fun and challenging sport of rock climbing in a supportive environment with experienced belayers to guide you. We will have our own room at Pacific Edge, one of the Central Coast's most renowned climbing gyms. Prepare to reach new heights and have a great time!

LOCAL WINE TASTING
Sat, April 12, 1-3pm

Location: Bargetto Winery (3535 N. Main St., Soquel)
Cost: $6 per person

Did you know that the Santa Cruz Mountains area is one of the premier wine-growing regions in the world? Enjoy a fun tasting experience with friends and good company at a beautiful historic winery on the banks of the Soquel Creek. Bargetto is a small family winery that has produced handcrafted wines in the Santa Cruz Mountains since 1933. We will have up to 5-7 different tastes, while learning about varieties of wine, the wine-making process, history of the vineyard, and food pairings. We will also enjoy a snack picnic of cheese and crackers. This tasting room is an all accessible venue. 21 years or older. Please secure your own transportation or call ParaCruz (this winery is right off Soquel Ave. in downtown Soquel and is easily accessible by bus).

4TH ANNUAL DAY IN THE SKY

Location: Watsonville Airport (100 Aviation Way, Wats.)
Cost: Free

Mark your calendar now for one of our most exciting events of the year! Disabled and terminally ill children of the Central Coast will receive plane rides over the spectacular coastline, while a simultaneous large festival and accessible activities expo entertains everyone on the ground. To register to participate or volunteer, check dayinthesky.org after March 15 or contact us to get on our email list to receive updates. Space for participants is limited and local kids (Central Coast) will be given priority.

IMAX MOVIE, SAN JOSE TECH MUSEUM,
& DINNER AT OLD SPAGHETTI FACTORY
Sun, April 27, 2-6pm

Location: Tech Museum of Innovation (201 S. Market Street, San Jose)
Cost: $7/person (includes movie & access to Tech Museum), plus extra for dinner

Home to the only IMAX Dome Theater in Northern California, the theater at The Tech is the ultimate movie experience with crystal clear images up to eight stories high and 13,000 watts of wrap-around digital surround sound!

We will dive into the ancient deep with the film Sea Monsters: A Prehistoric Adventure. Be transported back to the Late Cretaceous and accompany a team of paleontologists as they work to solve an 82 million year-old mystery! Using palaeontological evidence and 3D technology, filmmakers recreate these long-gone, magnificent creatures in all their glory.

The show will last approx. 45 min, after which we can explore the interactive Tech Museum. With over 240 unique hands-on experiences, there's sure to be something for all ages and interests!

We will end the day with a yummy early dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory, which is a few blocks from the museum.


YOUNG ARTISTS' STUDIO ART SHOW & RECEPTION
Sat, May 10, 12-3pm

Location: Santa Cruz Art League (526 Broadway, S.C.)
Cost: Free

Come celebrate the talent and hard work of some very special young people! This reception is a celebration of the opening of a three week art show displaying pieces the children in the course have created. The show will offer the young artists the unique opportunity to show off their talents to the public, and will raise community awareness about the many abilities that children with special needs have. Additionally, the reception will feature live bluegrass music, snacks, and a raffle and silent auction full of over 100 fabulous prizes.

WALK FOR SHARED ADVENTURES
IN THE 2007 HUMAN RACE WALKATHON

Get some fresh air and exercise along beautiful West Cliff drive while supporting Shared Adventures. You can walk on your own or together with our team! To participate in support of Shared Adventures, please contact us by phone or email; we will explain the simple process of signing up and getting sponsorship pledges.


ROARING CAMP RAILROADS
TRAIN RIDE THROUGH THE REDWOODS
Sat, May 31, 12-3:30pm

Location: Meet at Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, by carousel
Cost: Adults- $18, Children under 12- $14, Children under 3- free

Hop aboard the historic open-air train and take in the breathtaking views as we journey through the gorgeous redwood forests of the Santa Cruz Mountains and into Felton. We will meet at the Boardwalk carousel and ride up together. At Roaring Camp, we will de-board and spend an hour eating lunch and relaxing before riding the train back. Bring a sack lunch or you can purchase lunch there.


SAILING ON THE BAY
Thurs, May 1, May 22, 2-4pm

Location: Pacific Yachting (Aldo's side of the S.C. Harbor)
Cost: $20 (includes one companion)

Board a small luxury sailing yacht and float out of the harbor and into Monterey Bay, where you will see the amazing Santa Cruz coastline from a new perspective! This is a unique experience not to be missed. We have a lift to easily transfer people in wheelchairs into the boat. SPACE IS VERY LIMITED AND THIS IS ONE OF OUR MOST POPULAR ACTIVITIES, SO SIGN UP EARLY TO RESERVE A SPOT.

YOUNG ARTISTS STUDIO
Ongoing, Every Tues. & Wed. (attend one or both days), 3:30-5:30pm

Location: Branciforte Small Schools (formerly Branciforte Elementary)
Cost: Free

Young Artists' Studio is an inclusive after-school art program for young people with and without special needs, ages 12-18. Students work with many creative mediums including printmaking, painting, ceramics, and photography. They also benefit from the expertise of guest artists, learn about master artists, take field trips to view local art , and participate in art shows.
